Our Dr. Chantal Houle and Dr. Brett Tremble were on hand at the St. George Boulevard fire station February 4th, instructing members of the Moncton Fire Department in administering oxygen and performing CPR on house pets.
Orson was a great sport letting the firefighters practice using the oxygen masks we donated! You can read more about The Oaks Vet and our time with the Moncton Fire Department in this wonderful write up by the Times and Transcript.
Update: The Moncton training went so well that on March 12th the Riverview Fire & Rescue welcomed Dr. Houle and her training partner Orson to learn about pet resuscitation! Firefighters learned how to administer oxygen and CPR to dogs and cats suffering from smoke inhalation, and were taught to feel for the heartbeat in the dog’s chest and find the femoral pulse.
