Animal Health Week – October 4-10, 2015

Animal Health Week is a national public awareness campaign organized by the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) and hosted by veterinarians across Canada. Though we at The Oaks Vet work hard to promote animal health and responsible animal ownership throughout the year, Animal Health Week is a great time for veterinarians and veterinary hospitals across Canada to join together to spotlight an important health-related message for our patients and their families as well as the public.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of Animal Health Week! This year’s slogan, “The Perfect Pair: Partners in preventive veterinary care”, seeks to emphasize that while medical technology and veterinary care have advanced, the connection between our veterinary team and you remains one of the most critical facets of veterinary care. Preventive health care, which is always better for pets and more cost effective for pet owners, and a close relationship between our family and yours is extremely important.

Finding a veterinary hospital in your area with a health care team that’s right for you is essential. It’s best not to wait until an emergency strikes, as all pets should visit a veterinarian at least once yearly, but we’re always here to discuss healthcare options with you and help you make well-informed decisions about your pet’s medical care. We’re ready 24/7 to assist you so that you have the least stressful, most competent and effective service for you and your special four-legged (or winged) friend. Sometimes just asking for clarification, or for more information about an area of concern can prevent misunderstandings, so do not be afraid to ask!
